The school year ends in mid-July in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and therefore School Project activities have been up and running this past month as well. Back in June, the local school of Steinfort had their last rounds of activities and both teachers and kids were very happy with the outcome of the practices. The kids even managed to play a simplified version of the game at the end.

More of a large-scale event was delivered together with the local sports high school in June too. The project ‘Clever Move’ run in cooperation with different organisations involved the Luxembourg Volleyball Federation (FLVB) as well. The aim of the project is to give children the opportunity to take part in a wide range of physical activities every day during school lessons, for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. During a whole day, around 100 kids from the school could practice in the sand and were able to discover Beach Volleyball.

The 2023 edition of the Queen and King of the Court European Finals was a big success for both the CEV and the FLVB. Many kids were able to talk and liaise with the elite players and to watch the game performed at the highest level. You could easily see the excitement on the faces of the children.

Finally, the FLVB in cooperation with VC Lorentzweiler organised a Kids’ Day. Kids from the age of seven to 12 could have their first try-out in Volleyball. 24 children could join a series of workshops. Kids and the supporting parents had a lot of fun in the process.
